Obesity is a rising cause of concern among people of all ages, especially among youngsters. In order to reduce weight people try various various methods such as dieting, exercising, dancing etc. Most people lose weight by the any one of the above mentioned process but some continue to struggle in-spite of following all the above mentioned processes. There are many reasons why the above mentioned methods fail, it may be due to rigorous work schedule, laziness or even inability to let go of the wonderful tasty foods you love.
For such people there are many alternatives other than the above mentioned process for reducing your weight in a short period of time. Weight loss foods such as protein drinks, detour bars, diet shakes, diet puddings, diet soups and even diet snacks are available as a meal replacement food for all the weight conscious people out there.
By following a normal diet plan you can lose weight but its very hard to maintain once you start eating all your regular foods after you lose weight, hence by having these meal replacement foods in your schedule you will not only lose weight but you can also maintain your weight according to your desires. Am taking pains to write this because I feel that leading a healthy and normal life has it's own feeling of happiness.

The Marriage Tradition
Posted by ben at 3/29/2010 Monday, March 29, 2010
From where did the tradition of marriage start? To answer this question i have put in some of my own researches here in this post. Marriage, as a custom, goes back to the very earliest history of man. It has passed through three stages. The first was marriage by capture. Primitive man simply stole the woman he wanted for as his wife. Then came marriage by contract or a purchase. A bride was bought by a man.
Finally came the marriage based on mutual love. But even today we still have traces of the first two stages. The honeymoon itself symbolizes the period during which the bridegroom was forced to hide his captured bride until her kinsmen grew tired of searching for her!
When it comes to wedding customs, most of them can be traced back to ancient meanings which have long been forgotten. For example, the “something blue” which brides wear is borrowed from ancient Israel. In those times brides were told to wear a rib-band of blue on the borders of their garments because blue was the color of purity, love, and fidelity.

Fix The World
Posted by ben at 3/29/2010This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Global Purpose. All opinions are 100% mine.
Are you planning to change the world? If so, How? Certainly not by writing petitions to some higher authorities or joining a political party or by campaigning for causes you believe could change the world. Instead of wasting time on all these efforts which would guarantee so little change you could follow the steps and advice of Rockefeller Aldrich Kennedy-Popton.
He is a professional singer, keyboardist, guitarist and even a song writer by profession. The website created by him and aptly named THE PERFECT MOMENT NEVER ENDS created a lot of buzz and interest due to the fact that a single man could provide answers to all the problem in this world and bring about a change that no man or any government could accomplish. In his website he clearly explains the present state of affairs and the way through which every single human being could contribute to bring about a change in the world. This site gained prominence among people recently when banner ads stating GLOBAL SONGS were splattered on the online edition of new york times.
Started in 2005 by Rocky ( as he is called) he returned back in 2009 with an amazing music album titled "Population Of Paradise" which comprised of 11 tracks starting with the track "One". All these tracks are associated with the Great Plan and focuses on giving people a way to fix this world.
I personally think what Rocky is doing is simply great because he states that the answers to everything not lies in blaming others or proposing some radical methodologies but in allowing ourselves to change. The change we are willing to incorporate in ourselves would directly influence the way in which the world changes. So "It's Up to Us to Change the World" and make it a wonderful place to live in.

Nerve Endings
Posted by ben at 3/29/2010
What bodily changes cause us to have a dry throat when we're nervous ?
When you're nerve-ridden during public speaking. the body is set into the fight or flight state. This is caused by an activation of the autonomic nervous system.
The nerves are selectively activated, depending on how important they are for response. Because eating is not considered to be vital at this time. You just want to get the heck out of there. The nerves that control the salivary glands are suppressed, so your mouth dries up. your pupils dilate and the blood vessels to your muscles and heart widen to get blood to the most important organs for whatever action is necessary.
In a tense or dangerous situation, your body shuts down all unnecessary functions, including the digestive system. your salivary glands are part of it. You don't need to digest your last meal if a lion is trying to make you his next. This is also where " butterflies in the stomach" comes from.

The staff of life
Posted by ben at 3/27/2010 Saturday, March 27, 2010
Wherever you may go in the world whatever the local customs, language, dress, or taste you will find some form of bread! Of course, there are almost as many varieties of bread as there are nations. Bread is made from rye and barley. There are countries that use beans, potatoes, and even acorns in the making of bread.
But bread as we usually think of it is made from cereal grains of various types. It is the most important single food to the largest number of people. Without bread it would be necessary for people to eat larger quantities of more expensive foods such as eggs, milk, and fruits to maintain their health. With bread, even the poorest peoples are able to sustain life. That’s why bread is called “the staff of life.”
In earliest times, man used to chew grain seeds to obtain the energy he knew they provided. More than 3,000 years before Christ, the Egyptians learned to crush the grain to flour between stones. They added water to form dough, shaped it into flat cakes, and baked it.

The Power Of Weapons
Posted by ben at 3/26/2010
Weapons such as guns, grenades and missiles have been in use for over a long period of time. These weapons when in the hands of unrighteous people would cause havoc and destruction to property and civilian life whereas these same weapons in the hands of the right people would be used to save scores of innocent life.
Local law enforcement agencies put these weapons to maximum use by deploying them in times of severe need in situations such as an armed bank robbery or a hostage situation etc. Our own military personnel utilize the magnificence of these weapons by using them to protect and serve our country along the battle lines. These weapons are manufactured by some companies that are the best in this business while some companies help the weapon manufacturers by manufacturing tactical weapon accessories for these weapons. Weapon accessories such as sling accessories, tactical bipods, night vision accessories, rail mounting systems and even accessories for powerful guns like AR15 and MI16 are manufactured by them.
These accessories increase the power and precision of these weapons at the same time maximizing the life and usage of these weapons. These weapons and accessories in the hands of good people will make us feel a lot safer and would make the world a better place to live in.

Tips For Newcomers In SocialSpark
Posted by ben at 3/23/2010 Tuesday, March 23, 2010
SocialSpark

Right after you sign up and verify your blog you are eligible to receive opportunities in socialspark. There are 3 types of opportunities in socialspark
1) post
2) Affiliate Programs
3) Cost Per Click (CPC)
All opportunities in SocialSpark are subjected to the advertisers requirements. For e.g. when an advertiser releases an opportunity in SocialSpark he would state certain criteria like the following under the requirement section in each of his posts
(i) Blog should be a member of the advertisers blog roll
(ii) Verified blogs only
(iii) Blogs should have real rank less than 5000 or 3000 or 2000 etc...
(iv) Advertisers specify that bloggers from certain country alone are
eligible for that particular opportunity.
Only when the blogger meets all the requirements set up by the advertiser he is able to take up his opportunity.
Now we will see in detail some instructions on how to take up these opportunities.
Posts
These are sponsored posts which are released by the advertiser. Depending upon the advertisers standards the post must be written with good fluent English without any grammatical errors. All these posts require a minimum of 200 words sometimes rarely less than that.
You have to be careful when taking up a post because the minute an advertiser sets up a post it is taken up by many bloggers just like you unless or until you are on the blog roll of that particular advertiser you get a chance to take it up. If you are not quick enough to grab your post all the slots for that post would become full. Even then you can request a slot to the advertiser in case a blogger's reservation expires or he rejects the slot.
TIP ----- Keep checking on your socialspark account regularly if you are a newbie for grabbing
those posts.
Affiliate program
It's a new type of opportunity coming from the advertisers marketplace. Here when you take up an affiliate program you will be given a set of code and banners.
There is a text link, 2 or 3 of the advertisers banners from which you can choose any one and finally a disclosure badge which states that it is a sponsored content. After taking up an affiliate opportunity you have to write a short review about the advertiser's program and place the text link in it. Then you have to display the banner of the advertiser and the disclosure badge in your blog.
The number of clicks and views generated by these banners would be automatically recorded in SocialSpark and you can see these stats in your profile dashboard under " Manage taken opportunities ".
CPC
It is a relatively new type of sponsored marketing in which the blogger is required to paste the advertisers ads in their blog after which SocialSpark records the number of clicks on these ads by the visitors visiting your blog. Corresponding to the number of clicks the payment is made for e.g. if the advertiser's bid is 0.11$ per click SocialSpark calculates the necessary stats and pays in accordance with the bid.
Hope this clears up a lot of your basic doubts about SocialSpark. Do feel free to contact me in SocialSpark directly or by leaving a comment here. I felt a rising need to do provide this information as many bloggers are in the dark about these kind of information. Am really glad am able to help all you enthusiastic bloggers out there.

Cooking for eg, is a tedious process during the rush hours of morning, hence several appliances have been invented to help a common man or a common woman in preparing food in the early hours of the day.
A cooking toaster oven for one is a very helpful electronic appliance. These toaster ovens bake bread products or most commonly called bread within a span of few minutes with the help of glowing filaments which circulate heated air around the bread in order to cook them. These toasters come in wide range and specifications and are suitable for various range of people. They are in both high end and medium capacity.
Some toasters even have the capacity for holding up to 6 slices of bread or even an 12" pizza. Hope this information is helpful for all the working people out there. Just select the appliance which best suits you and your range and make your life hassle free.

Diamond and its history
Posted by ben at 3/20/2010 Saturday, March 20, 2010
Diamonds are not naturally beautiful. They have to he worked on be made beautiful. Diamonds in the rough form are found in all sizes and shapes and are, rather dull in outside appearance. Sometimes a diamond is sawed by a fast revolving disc impregnated with diamond dust. Only diamond dust can be used to wear down another diamond.
Most diamonds are sawed in two, and each half is shaped and cut into a round diamond called a brilliant. The facets, or little faces, arc ground on a high-speed, cast-iron wheel impregnated with diamond dust and oil. Diamond cutters have developed a whole series of shapes for cutting diamonds, such as the emerald cut, the baguette, the marquise, and so on.
It was not until 1430 that the custom of wearing a diamond as a personal ornament was introduced. A lady named Agnes Sorel started the fashion in the French Court, and the custom spread throughout Europe. As a result, there was feverish activity in India for more than 300 years to supply diamonds. Slowly diamond mining began to spread all over the world.

Origin of Circus
Posted by ben at 3/19/2010
Man has always loved to be entertained. From the very beginning of civilization there have been jugglers, acrobats, animal trainers and clowns to entertain people. In ancient Greece there were chariot races,in China there were contortionists, and in Egypt there were trainers of wild animals.
But it was the Romans who first had the idea of combining such acts and other events into a circus. Actually, the word “circus” comes from the Latin pertaining to races rather than to a type of show. So the circus started with races, and the structures built 4 by the Romans for these races were called circuses. The Circus Maxi- mus was the first and largest of these. It was started in the third century t B.C. and was enlarged until it could seat more than 150,000 people.
During the middle ages there was no organized circus as such, but troupes of performers would wander about doing various acts. The first circus as we know it today, was organized by an Englishman Philip Astley, in 1768 or somewhere close to that..(sorry for the inaccuracies)..After him, a great many people had the same idea, and the circus became a popular entertainment all over the world

Epilepsy
Posted by ben at 3/19/2010
Epilepsy is a disease of the nervous system. People with epilepsy have sudden spells during which they have spasms called convulsions, after which they may become unconscious or fall into a coma. Doctors cannot yet explain exactly what happens and what causes the convulsions.
It seems that the normal patterns of activity of the brain become disrupted for a short time. The brain tissue in these people is sensitive to chemical changes, and when some sort of change takes place, the brain responds by sending out discharges that cause the convulsions. A person has to be predisposed to epilepsy to have such reactions, because other people may undergo the same chemical changes and not have convulsions; there is a possibility that it is hereditary.
Medical science has developed drugs to prevent attacks, and to control them when they do occur. These medicines are usually given to people over a period of many years, or even for a lifetime, so that they lead normal, happy lives. An epileptic attack may be caused by a head injury, a high fever, tumors, or scars in the brain substance, disturbances in the blood supply, and so on. Injury to the brain may result in epilepsy.

People suffering from these disorders cannot carry out their day to day activities like a normal person. They need to have special eyeglasses which accommodate a proper lens to correct each of their defect.

They also have an option of choosing a frame for the glasses they are going to wear. These frames come in all style like white frames, gold frames and textured frames. Olympics and its history - 2
Posted by ben at 3/16/2010 Tuesday, March 16, 2010
We saw previously the first part of how the mega event and sports show in all of the world - The Olympics came into play. Now lets see in detail how the event developed over time.
Fifteen hundred years later after the Romans abolished them in 384 A.D a Frenchman named Baron Pierre de Coubertin had the idea of reviving the Olympic Games. In 1894, following his suggestion, an International Congress of fifteen nations was held in Paris. This Congress unanimously agreed to revive the games and to hold them every four years. Two years later, in the rebuilt stadium at Athens, Greece, the first of the modem Olympic Games was held.
The games today include many sports that didn't even exist in ancient times, such as basketball, water polo, soccer, cycling, shooting, and field hockey. The modern Olympics are governed by an international Olympic committee and each nation has its own national Olympic committee which is responsible for its country's participation in the Olympics.

Olympics and its history - 1
Posted by ben at 3/15/2010 Monday, March 15, 2010
We have seen in our previous posts about the origin of the worlds favorite sport Soccer. Now we will see about how the pride of each sportsmen - The Olympics had started.
According to Greek legend, the Olympic games were started by Hercules, son of Zeus. the first records we have are of games held in 776 B.C. on the plain of Olympia. They were held every four years for more than 1,000 years, until the Romans abolished them in 394 A.D.
The ancient Greeks considered the games so important that they measured time by the interval between them. The four years were called an Olympiad. The games were an example of the Greek ideal that the body, as well as the mind and spirit, should he developed. Nothing was allowed to interfere with holding the games; if a war happened to be going on, the war was stopped!
