Rugs or carpets as they are usually called are ancient fabrics that have withstood the test of time. their origin can even be traced back to 7000 B.C. Such ancient and exquisite objects are the fancy of many a people right from the ancient days till the modern period we are living on. These rugs have very high value and are often rated sacred in certain religions of our past and present times.
Of all the rugs only the Persian rug stood out for its uniqueness and its craftsmanship since it was one of persia's distinguished expression of its art and culture . Even now in the present world Persia also called as Iran is the largest exporter of rugs worldwide and it dominates the world rug market by a whooping 30 percent. Many othrer countries such as china dominate the carpet trade by producing alternate and cheap rugs.
Nowadays carpets can be purchased anywhere and everywhere due to the convenience of modern technologies. Rugs are available in all designs, shapes and sizes right from the Persian to the oriental. They are used for many different purposes ranging from religious activities to decorating the house.
Certain rugs are used for giving a nice view to the room by hanging it on a wall but they are commonly used on the floors to beautify the floor such as Area rugs. There are different types of rugs one can choose ranging from the type of material like wool, cotton, acrylic etc. to the type of designs incorporated in them. Overall when purchasing a rug people look for the comfortability factor it comes with.
