Hypnotism works

When I was in the 6th grade this incident happened to me . My parents had gone out that day and I was studying at home, since my exams were near. After some time, I heard the doorbell ring. When I opened the door, I saw that it was a salesman.

The first I said to him was a big NO. But the salesman would not take no for an answer. He gave me an incense stick told me to smell it. I realized what he was trying to do & moved to close the door. But, he was not ready to go. There was only one way to send him on his way & that was to smell the stick!

On smelling the stick, I just forgot who I was. The salesman told me that if I bought 10 dozens of incense, he would give me 3 buckets free. So I bought the incense. After a while, when my parents returned, they saw the incense sticks and the buckets near the door. They saw me sitting quietly on the sofa. They asked me many questions, but received no reply from me. Scared, they went and splashed some water on my face. I came to my senses then & told them the whole story. At once, they took those incense sticks and sold them to a shop. But the man was not seen again.

After this, I have tried to avoid smelling anything if I don't know what it is.
